In the late 1940s, the Middleboro Bicycle Safety Club was formed by Norman Lindsay of the Bates School to promote the safety of children while riding bicycles. Included in this group of members of the club in front of the former Fourth District Court House (now part of the Middleborough Police Station) are, standing, third row, left to right, Miss Doris Greenwood, Massachusetts Safety Council representative; Marcia Brooks, holding flag; Superintendent of Schools, J.
